Fruit trifle is a classic dessert that combines layers of fruit, custard, and cake or pastry. Here is a fruit trifle recipe you can try:
Ingredients for Fruit Trifle:
- 1 pound cake or sponge cake
- 3 cups mixed fruit (such as berries, kiwi, peaches, or apricots), diced
- 2 cups custard (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions for Fruit Trifle:
Cut the
pound cake or sponge cake into small cubes and set aside.
In a large
bowl, mix the diced fruit with 1 cup of custard.
In a
separate bowl, beat the cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until
stiff peaks form.
In a large
trifle bowl or glass serving dish, layer half of the cake cubes on the bottom.
