Easy Fish biryani Recipe or Macchi biryani
Fish biryani or Macchi biryani is a flavorful and aromatic dish that combines fish and rice. Here is an easy fish biryani or Macchi biryani recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb fish fillets (such as salmon, cod, or tilapia)
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 2 tbsp vegetable or cooking oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder (or to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups fish stock or chicken stock
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 cup fried onion
Instructions:
Flush the rice in cool water and put it away.
Add the
onion and fry until golden brown.
Add the ginger, garlic paste cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red bean stew powder, and salt, and sear for a couple of moments until the oil isolates from the masala.
Add the fish filets and sear for a couple of moments until they are cooked through.
Add the
rice, water, and stock and bring to a boil.
Reduce the
heat and simmer, covered, for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the
liquid is absorbed.
Stir in the
yogurt, cilantro, mint, parsley, dill, and fried onions.
Cover and
cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Serve hot
with raita or chutney.
You can use any type of fish you like, and you can change the seasoning on the masala to your taste.
