Ingredients:

  • Chickpeas, two cups (soaked overnight or canned)
  • oil, 2 tablespoons
  • 1/4 cup cumin seeds

Instructions:

  • Oil in a pan is heated to medium heat. When the cumin seeds are heated, add them and watch them pop.
  • Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and diced onion. The onions should be cooked until they are soft and translucent.
  • Cook the chopped tomatoes after being added until they are mushy and tender.
  • Red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder should be added. Mix thoroughly and heat for a short while.
  • Salt and the rinsed and soaked chickpeas should be added to the pan. Add 1/2 cup of water after thoroughly mixing.
  • The mixture should be brought to a boil before being simmered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chickpeas are fully cooked.
  • after then the chickpeas have finished cooking, add the chopped cilantro and toss well.
  • Hot rice, roti, or naan should be served with the Channa Masala.
  • Observation: In step 5, place the chickpeas directly in the pan rather than soaking and cooking them beforehand if you are using canned chickpeas.
